We named this wine in honour of Master Potter Hoffmann who settled on the Liebich property in the 1850?s and left his thumb print on?each of his creations.

These perfectly paired varieties were grown on the Liebich property in the eastern foothills of Rowland Flat where heavier red brown black soils predominate.
This wine was hand plunged and basket-pressed, then spent 24 months in mainly seasoned French oak before being bottled without fining or filtration, to help preserve optimal fruit flavours.?The 17% Merlot component delivers black cherry and mulberry blending seamlessly with the perfumed violet characters of the 83% Cabernet Sauvignon from low-yielding vines.
A wine of complete elegance and beauty from the excellent 2012 vintage. This wine?was bottled in screw cap to immortalise the magnificent flavours beyond the life span of cork.

Taste Notes: Medium body, crimson brick red colour with brick red hue. ?Full ripe mulberries and cherries with a hint of floral violet entwined with soft spicy oak and a refreshing acid linger on the finish. A rich and rewarding mouthful!
It?s the depths of winter here in the Barossa?, a cold and?wet one. On 12th July?2016 a?sudden hail storm passed through Rowland Flat and surrounding towns leaving snow-like trails. This was nothing compared to the hail that fell exactly four years ago to the day in a bizarre coincidence. The freak hail storm only?affected a very narrow band of the Barossa Ranges including our property on Steingarten?Road, Rowland Flat. It hailed so much in 2012 it?really did look like snow!

This premium Barossa Shiraz is produced from low yielding 45 year old vines. Maturation in old American oak for at least two years delivers a complex, flavoursome wine. All our reds are bottled unfiltered to capture the essence of the variety.
The wine?exhibits intense brooding berries, dark plum and pepper flavours. Excellent fruit length with a richly textured palate in complete harmony with the oak.

Grenache red blend released! Our first ever GMS blend of classic Barossa varietals all grown on the Liebich property.?Usually all our Grenache fruit goes into making fortified wine to keep our barrels topped up with fresh wine for our bulk blends. 2012 was such a great season in the Barossa we thought it was time to introduce an easy drinking lighter bodied wine into the range, just in time for warmer weather. All the Grenache fruit is grown on bush vines which also makes for a flavoursome base wine.
Each fruit parcel was hand plunged and basket-pressed, then spent 15 months in seasoned American and French oak, before being bottled without fining or filtration to help encapsulate the fruit essences.?Grenache dominates the blend with lifted red berries and Mataro adds a spicy savoury backbone. The Shiraz component adds depth and suppleness to the wine.
