In the depths of winter in Barossa Valley. It’s always cold and wet, but it usually never snows. On 12th July 2016 a sudden hail storm passed through Rowland Flat and surrounding towns leaving snow-like trails. This was nothing compared to the hail that fell exactly four years ago to the day in a bizarre coincidence. The freak hail storm in 2012 only affected a very narrow band of the Barossa Ranges including our property on Steingarten Road, Rowland Flat. It hailed so much in 2012, it really did look like snow!

Popular Barossa Shiraz Returns: 2012 Leveret Released

Leveret?Shiraz?2012

Released March 2015

Leveret is the term for a baby hare, which narrowly escapes being run over by the tractor from row to row.

A single vineyard Barossa Shiraz from the excellent 2012 vintage. Lovers of big Barossa Shiraz won?t be disappointed.

A classic full bodied black inky Barossa shiraz grown on 22 year old vines in the eastern foothills of Rowland Flat, where heavier red brown black soils predominate.

Traditional techniques of hand plunging, basket-pressing and bottling without fining or filtration, all help to preserve the essence of fruit. Maturation for 24 months in seasoned American and French oak has delivered a complex wine with intense dark berries balanced superbly with spiced vanillin oak flavours.

Enjoy now and for at least 10 years, particularly with red meats and richly flavoured foods. This wine?was bottled in screw cap to immortalise the magnificent flavours beyond the life span of cork.
