Description

From time to time Ron Liebich has the opportunity to release small quantities of wine made from different grape varieties or fruit parcels from different vineyards.

Ron’s Selection Old Vine Shiraz is produced from predominantly low yielding old vines grown in the southern part of Barossa Valley. Maturation for 3 years in old French barriques delivers a well-rounded flavoursome wine not overwhelmed by oaky characteristics. Traditional techniques of hand plunging, basket-pressing and bottling without fining or filtration, all help to preserve the essence of fruit.

Despite 2011 vintage being wetter than usual, the season delivered a well-rounded Shiraz with approachable fruit and soft tannins. A wine full of dark fruits and spices with subtle oak and excellent fruit length. Perfect for everyday drinking with a hearty meal or will reward long term cellaring.

A very popular wine when it is part of the Liebichwein range.
